Temporary Junior High English Language Arts and Junior High Band Teacher

The Medicine Hat Public School Division provides quality learning environments that make available positive experiences that are developmentally appropriate and support the whole student. As a temporary Band and Humanities Teacher at Alexandra Middle School, the expectation is to provide a learning environment that supports students in their academic, social and physical growth. Key skills to success in this position are the ability to build positive relationship, the ability to incorporate differentiated instruction into daily routine as well as strong classroom management.

Alexandra Middle School is looking for a caring, dedicated, resilient teacher to fill a full-time Junior high English and Band teacher. At Alexandra Middle School we believe that learning becomes more meaningful for students when they are given opportunities for authentic learning. Experience teaching Humanities/Language Arts at the middle school level is a necessity. An understanding of Teacher Clarity' as a foundation for instruction and assessment will be an asset.

Our successful candidate will also have experience supporting students as well as the school community utilizing Collaborative Response. Meeting students where they are at in their learning is a key component to our AMS learning culture. Respecting each students' learning needs requires the candidate to have strengths in differentiated instructional strategies, demonstrated collaborative skills and a professional practice based on reflection and growth.
