The Medicine Hat Police Service is looking for a proactive professional to join their team in a dynamic role providing comprehensive end-user support. This multifaceted opportunity encompasses hardware/software tools and solutions, help desk support, network and internet technical services, and more As our ideal candidate, you will be an effective communicator, adept at handling sensitive information and files while prioritizing privacy and confidentiality. Your strong judgment and adherence to procedures, combined with excellent time management skills, make you an asset in our fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate

  • Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN/VPN technologies, network protocols, and computer and network security protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions using sound judgement.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a two (2) year diploma in Computer Technology or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution or technical institution.
  • One (1) year related experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • A management approved combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must pass a full Police Service security clearance as outlined in the Medicine Hat Police Service Policy and Procedures, including a polygraph examination.
