About the role:


Join our client, Symcor – one of Canada’s largest business and payment processing services providers, as the next Sales Trainer. In this role, you will drive employee development, enhancing their skills and knowledge through dynamic training programs that align with Symcor’s growth objectives and industry standards.

As the Director, Sales Specialist, you will develop an understanding of clients' priorities and drive new sales and growth opportunities. By strengthening client relationships, you will identify sales opportunities and position the company as a strategic partner.


Summary:


The Sales Trainer will oversee, implement, and maintain Symcor's comprehensive learning and development programs. This role will focus on empowering employees to enhance their skills, knowledge, and abilities, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.


Accountabilities:


  • Maintain, evolve, and adapt the sales training curriculum to meet the dynamic needs of the organization.
  • Deliver training using a mix of instructional techniques and approaches. Encourage participation, provide real world examples, and create a positive and effective learning environment.
  • Evaluate individual needs and provide relevant and timely training.
  • Evaluate the training program and its effectiveness for the company’s current products and services. Develop and review KPIs and scorecards.
  • Track performance metrics to gauge the effectiveness of training and coaching efforts.
  • Develop training programs and materials to support the sales of new products and services.
  • Using data-driven insights to refine training strategies and address areas of improvement.
  • Keep up to date on industry best practices and ensure training materials and approaches are relevant and in line with industry standards and expectations.


Education and Experience:


  • College diploma or undergraduate university degree in a related discipline; adult learning certification is an asset
  • A minimum of 8 years of sales experience, including 5 years of experience as a sales trainer


Required Skills and Knowledge:


  • Understanding of Adult Learning Principles and training methods
  • Proven sales experience
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Proven Change Management skills
  • Proven success as a coach and mentor. Ability to provide feedback in a constructive manner
  • Process Oriented
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Familiarity with sales workflows, lead generation and deal stages
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Problem solving
