The opportunity: Our client, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is seeking a Business Intelligence Consultant to join their new business intelligence team. You will help CSA lay the foundations of business intelligence within their agency, focusing on creating a business intelligence centre of expertise.


Contract: October 2024 (estimated)-March 31, 2024, with possibility of extension.


Location: Remote, but must attend kick-off meeting at CSA headquarters at 6767 Route de l’Aéroport, Saint-Hubert, Quebec


Security: Valid Reliability clearance


Language: Bilingual (English and French)


What you will bring:

  1. 5+ years (within the past 10 years) of experience in business intelligence in all stages (from data preparation to data visualization)
  2. 3+ years (within the past 10 years) of experience setting up a business intelligence centre of expertise (support, coaching, community of practice, training, etc.)
  3. 5+ years (within the past 10 years) of experience gathering, analyzing, and monitoring client needs in a business intelligence context


What you will achieve:

  1. Phase 1 : Gathering corporate needs for a business intelligence centre of expertise. Gather and analyze corporate business intelligence support and coaching needs from IM/IT and the sectors
  2. Produce a document recording the needs gathered and the results of the analysis
  3. Phase 2: Demystifying business intelligenceProduce a document that demystifies business intelligence by defining key concepts and the decision-making process for non-IM/IT resources
  4. Phase 3: Promotion of the business intelligence services offered Produce detailed document describing the service offering of a business intelligence team
  5. Phase 4: Promotion of the business intelligence norms and obligationsProduce detailed document explaining the business intelligence norms and obligations to be adhered to
  6. Phase 5 : Production of document templates such as the terms of reference, data quality profiling, data analysis recording all the work done during a project, etc.Phase 6 : Creation of a business intelligence centre of expertiseEstablish the service offering of the centre of expertise
  7. Establish communication methods and service standards
  8. Launch an internal business intelligence community of practice at the CSA including but not limited to periodic meetings, newsletters for communications, listing and indexing of key basic training courses, best practices, sharing of projects, successes, issues, and foundations for future surveys with clients
