Position Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) will play a critical role within the organization's information systems and business operations team. Creating a bridge between the technology and business sectors, the BIA will ensure that the enterprise systems are optimally designed, deployed, and managed to meet organizational goals. The BIA will analyze system requirements, design solutions, and oversee implementation efforts to enhance operational efficiency and support business initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Information Systems the Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Gathering, evaluating, documenting and validating business requirements and translating them into actionable deliverables
  • Supporting and acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various enterprise applications, supporting core firm-wide business operations
  • Providing support to the end users on cloud-based and on-premise enterprise applications
  • Providing a thorough understanding of user needs and business objectives related to enterprise applications
  • Managing and supporting operational upgrades and maintenance of enterprise applications supporting business operations
  • Working with the IT Team or vendor to monitor, troubleshoot and optimize enterprise application performance
  • Ensuring that new systems or updates integrate seamlessly with existing systems and processes, maintaining overall system integrity.
  • Developing change management documentation for integrations of new systems within existing infrastructure.
  • Building and supporting data integrations
  • Acting as an application SME, support projects related to enterprise application deployments, enhancements and upgrades
  • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with team members, business partners, subject matter experts and software vendors
  • Creating detailed documentation for specifications, testing plans, and user manuals to ensure comprehensive knowledge of systems for future reference.
  • Maintaining effective communication with management, team members and business stakeholders
  • Ensuring that systems comply with relevant compliances, regulations and standards, and that data security measures are robust and effective.
  • Performing data analysis and creating reports to provide insights to support decision making processes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years work experience supporting firm wide applications and with direct support to end users within an organization.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in working with business applications, experience with Microsoft suite preferred.
  • Previous experience in the areas of project management, client relationship management and technical services delivery considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of security concepts, application high-availability and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to analyze situations/problems systematically, coordinating with the other teams (Infrastructure, Architecture, Development, Security, and Project Management) to deliver effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Strong time management skills to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven analytical, creative problem solving and collaborative decision-making abilities.
