Overview This position is a part of the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA). This position has a term of 1 year. Location: in-person at North Campus Edmonton. We are seeking a casual research nurse, working under the supervision of Dr. Sara Davison to support a quality improvement initiative aimed at better understanding and managing symptom burden in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease. The successful candidate will engage with patients receiving care in the Alberta Kidney Care North program (AKC-N) to explain the initiative, obtain informed consent, and ensure accurate documentation and storage in alignment with research ethics and Acute Care Alberta standards. This position requires travel within the Edmonton Zone and offers flexible scheduling and travel reimbursement. Responsibilities Develop and maintain a weekly on-site schedule across assigned AKC-N locations Collaborate with clinic and hemodialysis unit staff to support workflow integration Travel within the Edmonton Zone to AKC-N clinical sites Provide information to patients and answer questions regarding the initiative Obtain and document informed consent in alignment with research ethics and ACA standards Maintain participant master list(s) (consented/declined) Provide weekly progress updates to the Senior Project Manager Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing with CLPNA or CRNA Minimum 2 years of regular clinical nursing experience as an LPN/RN in renal nursing Willingness to travel within the Edmonton Zone High level of flexibility, adaptability, and ability to prioritize working hours to align with clinic and hemodialysis schedules Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and obtain informed consent Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and other platforms Previous experience within AKC-N renal program Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written), including the ability to explain the quality improvement initiative to patients Experience in patient education or research/quality improvement Experience using RedCap Valid Class 5 Drivers License to operate a vehicle within Alberta.
