The General Manager will be tasked with evaluating the current business and building a national “go-to market” strategy to support aggressive grown targets in the short to medium term.


The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the management of the division’s national operations. In alignment with the company’s overall goals, the incumbent will be equipped to succeed as a multifaceted Manager with a pulse to increase revenue and managing operations to support this.


You will demonstrate the capacity to drive employee engagement and development and maximize individual performance, practicing a collaborative and open-door approach to leadership. You will engage in a consistent commitment to building and cultivating a high-productivity culture with clear expectations, values and objectives.


General Manager Job Duties:

  • Developing sales and operational strategic plans and overseeing their implementation to ensure maximum capacity of the sales units towards achieving the group’s aggressive short-term strategy, growth and profit objectives.
  • Develop strategic plans to grow product lines, expand geographic points of presence and capitalize on financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives.
  • Accomplishes objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
  • Coordinates efforts by establishing procurement, production, marketing, field, and technical services policies and practices; coordinating actions with corporate staff.
  • Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Increases management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.
  • Enhance corporate image and reputation through attending appropriate industry functions, trade shows and conferences. Establish and build network relationships and fosters new business relationships.


Knowledge and Skill Required:


  • At least 8 to 10 years managing P&Ls including sales and servicing of Industrial clients across Canada.
  • A character that people admire in all aspects of your life.
  • Analytical: ability to think conceptually to have impact across functional areas.
  • Coaching and mentoring: ability to motivate and guide team members.
  • Proven history: a history of increasing revenue by double digit numbers
  • Communication: Ability to articulate vision and communicate strategies across all levels of the organization.
  • Leadership: Possess solid leadership skills including people management: ability to select, train, supervise and evaluate staff.
  • Persuasion: Persuasion is required both internally and externally. Support staff, suppliers, consultants, internal support groups and customers must frequently be motivated to act or react in a manner to support credibility.
  • Presentation: Ability to present effectively to Board members and SLT.
  • Problem Solving: able to interpret complex commercial concerns and identify and mobilize appropriate resources, with minimum negative impact.
  • Strategy: Demonstrate the ability to take the role to that of a Strategic partner with the Organization.
  • Demonstrate the ability to embrace new concepts and change as well as seek new ways of doing things.
