As Director of Finance, you will report directly to the COO and work closely with the CEO to drive financial strategies. You will provide financial guidance and analysis to ensure the company’s financial health and stability, and the achievement of company goals and objectives. You will identify areas for process improvement and be responsible for ensuring our enterprise systems set-up is fully optimized for the future. This is a strategic leadership role that will be pivotal in building on the financial infrastructure and strategic planning processes in place as we embark on our next phase of growth.


Day to day you will be responsible for:


Financial Analysis & Reporting :

  • Prepare, manage, analyze, and present financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly reports.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of financial information to internal parties, government regulators and outside agencies.
  • Develop and support the development of departmental financial plans, budgets, forecasts, cash-flow management and providing insights that will help drive the business.
  • Act as the financial advisor to the executive team for planning purposes, evaluating initiatives and investments to maximize profitability and growth plans.

Financial Operations :

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general accounting and foreign currency balances.
  • Authorize expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, tax laws and internal controls.
  • Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross-team processes.
  • Review and approve customer profitability analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Review pricing calculations and support contract negotiations.

Service Operations – Financial Component :

  • Oversee and provide finance control on day-to-day financial processes related to our service delivery including but not limited to invoice generation, adjustments, and regulatory/legislative financial compliance in our provided services.

Risk Management :

  • Identify and evaluate organizational risks and provide recommendations.
  • Manage insurance coverages for the organization, including compliance.

Strategic Partnerships :

  • Manage external relationships including banks, auditors, tax advisors and government authorities to optimize financial operations and ensure compliance.

Management:

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Be responsible for and support team in ensuring the effectiveness of the ISO 9001:2015 compliant quality management system.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7 - 10+ years of relevant experience, most recently in a senior finance management role
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Experience with managing foreign currency transactions.
  • Experience with Sage software an asset.

Knowledge of English is required for this specific position. As PiVAL International deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
