Fixed Assets Accountant

In this role, youu2019ll play a key part in managing the companyu2019s capital assets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all fixed asset processes.ResponsibilitiesReview asset additions with various departments to ensure accurate classification between capital expenditures and operating costs.Transfer completed projects from construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts to the fixed assets subledger.Reconcile CIP accounts on a regular basis.Process monthly depreciation and related journal entries.Prepare month-end reports and analyses for various departments.Support the preparation of the annual capital budget.Assist with audits and other finance-related projects as needed.Other duties as requiredQualificationsPost-secondary education in Accounting or Finance.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with Oracle Financials is an assetStrong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in fixed assets and capital accounting.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and manage priorities under minimal supervisionWhy The Brick?A flexible and comprehensive benefits package, including Health, Dental and Paramedical Services for you and your familyCompetitive remuneration package that will commensurate with experienceCareer progression potential with plenty of access to ongoing personal and professional developmentEmployee discountsA dynamic environment to showcase your leadership talents.Apply nowThe Brick is committed to fair and accessible employment practices and will accommodate people with disabilities throughout the recruitment, application, and selection process.
