Position Title: Program Lead, Operations Standards Department/Section: Paramedic Operations Employment Status: Permanent Full Time Targeted Salary Range: $97,997.00-$125,000.00 Work Mode: Hybrid (2 Days Per Week) Existing Vacancy: Yes Location: 2695 Bristol Circle, Oakville Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week – Monday to Friday Posting Open Date: Friday November 14, 2025 Posting Close Date: Sunday November 30, 2025 The targeted salary range is supplemented by a competitive total reward package. Ornge is looking for a Program Lead, Operations Standards who is a dynamic and connected leader with an understanding of frontline realities and the importance of alignment to operational strategy. This role is eyes on the ground, solving day-to-day challenges, understands how teams work, and driving programs that keep patient care safe, efficient, and innovative. Why You’ll Love This Role Bridge gaps between operations and care delivery. Develop and maintain compliance programs aligned with Ministry of Health regulations and Accreditation Canada standards. Lead Simulation-Informed Design initiatives to influence aircraft, ambulance, and equipment development. Oversee procurement and evaluation of biomedical equipment and consumables—projects exceeding $1M in value. Keep clinically active while driving strategic improvements and operational excellence. Collaborate with Aviation, Logistics, Clinical Affairs, and external partners to standardize processes and elevate care delivery. Responsibilities Develop and maintain a compliance monitoring program to ensure adherence to operational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Collaborate and align with key internal and external partners. Conduct root cause analysis on compliance issues and operational variances, recommending corrective and preventive actions. Develop risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance-related risks within operational processes. Lead the creation, revision, and implementation of operational documents and procedures to support safe and efficient frontline operations. Ensure all documentation aligns with Ornge Policy, Ministry of Health guidelines, Accreditation Canada standards, and partner requirements. Design and implement a Simulation Informed Design program to guide the design of aircraft, land ambulances and paramedic equipment. Ensure equipment meets safety, continuity, and efficiency standards and complies with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Conduct reviews and audits as required to ensure appropriate care and custody of controlled substances in alignment with federal and provincial legislation. Qualifications Certified Critical Care Paramedic, Advanced Care Flight Paramedic, Registered Nurse (Critical Care/Emergency) or Respiratory Therapist. 10+ years in a related healthcare field – as noted above with deep operational knowledge. Experience in managing the design, coordination, and delivery of related programs. Strong program development and project management skills. Experience selecting and implementing new biomedical devices and medical consumables. Knowledge of the Ontario ambulance system and regulatory frameworks. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Expertise in compliance, quality assurance and operational standards. Ability to lead innovation while maintaining clinical engagement.
