The Opportunity The Lead, Compliance Programs is responsible for the implementation, adoption, and ongoing operation of the company’s Ethics and Compliance Program. This role combines strategic program launch leadership with hands‑on operational implementation and management of the Ethics and Compliance Program. The incumbent will work closely with the VP, Legal & Regulatory Compliance along with business leaders across the organization to ensure compliance policies and processes are well‑designed, practical, and actively followed throughout the organization. Who You Are Experienced at developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders and peers. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy and persuasion. Confidence in interacting with senior management. How You Will Create An Impact Lead the implementation of the Ethics and Compliance Program throughout The Commonwell. Establish the implementation roadmaps for each operational area in conjunction with the business leadership team. Provide ongoing support and technical expertise to the business leadership throughout the execution of those implementation steps. What You Will Bring Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Compliance, or a related field is required. FCIP or CIP designation is strongly preferred. Professional certification in change management or compliance (e.g., CCEP, Prosci, ACMP) is considered an asset. 5–7 years of experience in insurance operations, including 1–2 years specializing in compliance, ethics, or risk management within a regulated environment. Experience in the insurance or financial services sector is preferred. Proven experience implementing and administering a compliance or ethics platform (e.g., Ethidex). Strong ability to design and implement new enterprise-wide business programs. Solid understanding of the application of regulations pertinent to the business of insurance in Ontario. Demonstrated ability to support change management, communications, and stakeholder engagement to implement operational processes and procedures to meet stated objectives. Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
