Serving civil, municipal, and industrial clients across BC, we’re focused on craftsmanship, innovation, and building long-term customer partnerships as we scale our operations POSITION PURPOSE The Mechanical & Systems Project Coordinator is responsible for the accurate intake, purchasing support, and coordination of mechanical fabrication orders within Pacific Rim Fabrication. This role connects material flow, scheduling, and documentation between Pacifc Rim’s fabrication team, and project management. The coordinator develops technical and operational skills through the mechanical side of the business, with the goal of progressing into the prepackaged systems group as the business grows. GROWTH PATHWAY This role is designed as a developmental position within Pacific Rim Fabrication. The Coordinator will progressively assume greater project coordination responsibility, transitioning from mechanical fabrication support into prepackaged system management. Stage 1: Mechanical & Systems Project Coordinator – order entry, purchasing, and scheduling. Stage 2: Junior Project Coordinator – exposure to prepackaged systems, chamber documentation, and BOM setup. Stage 3: Project Manager – ownership of prepackaged system projects, customer communication, and delivery oversight. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Order Intake and Coordination Receive and review incoming mechanical fabrication orders. Enter all job details, work orders, and bill of materials into NetSuite accurately and promptly. Ensure order documentation is complete, approved, and ready for production release. Maintain visibility on job status from intake through fulfillment. Purchasing and Material Coordination Review job material requirements and initiate purchase requests as required. Coordinate material deliveries and communicate lead times or shortages. Work closely with vendors to confirm availability and alternatives. Support purchasing and inventory management for fabrication projects. Fabrication Scheduling and Communication Maintain a fabrication schedule in coordination with the Fabrication Lead. Communicate daily and weekly priorities to the shop team. Track work order completion and update NetSuite to reflect accurate job progress. Support shop meetings and assist with planning workload across mechanical and prepackaged systems. Project and Development Support Assist with quoting small fabrication or repeat mechanical jobs. Prepare order confirmations and follow up on delivery timelines. Participate in project review meetings and documentation control. Learn and apply packaged systems workflows, supporting transition into that team over time. KEY COMPETENCIES High attention to detail and process accuracy. Strong organizational and communication skills. Understanding of fabrication or mechanical components. Ability to coordinate with multiple departments under changing priorities. Proficient with NetSuite or similar ERP systems, Excel, and PDF markup tools. Willingness to learn technical drawings, BOMs, and project documentation standards. IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE 2–4 years of experience in coordination, purchasing, or fabrication support. Background in construction, manufacturing, or waterworks considered an asset. Positive attitude with initiative to take ownership and grow into project management. Enjoys working in a team environment with a balance of technical and administrative tasks.
