Director of Education & HR (Temporary12-Month Maternity Leave) HillsidePines is an Eden Alternative long-term care home dedicated to creating a warm, safe, and person-directed community for Elders and care partners. We are currently seeking a Director of Human Resources & Education, a key leadership role that supports our mission of fostering a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow. This is a unique opportunity to lead both HR and education services under one portfolio—strengthening our culture of continuous learning, ensuring compliance, supporting care partner development, and contributing directly to an engaged, thriving workforce. Key Responsibilities HumanResources Leadership Participatein recruitment, retention, onboarding, health and safety, and HR policyinitiatives. Leadconsistent and effective orientation processes across all departments. Prepare HR metrics and reports to support strategic decision-making. Maintain accurate and organized personnel records, payroll information, and confidential care partner files. Oversee the collection, organization and management of care partner information to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficient HR operations. MaintainHR policies, ensure compliance with legislation, and recommend updates as needed. Administerbenefits and pension programs in accordance with best practices. Supportprogressive discipline processes and performance management systems. Education & Training Leadership Ensuretraining meets all regulatory requirements and maintain accurate educationrecords. Createand update training materials, manuals, and online learning content. Mentorand support care partners, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Ensurecompliance with Occupational Health & Safety training requirements andquality management standards. Actsas the primary administrator for both Niuz communication and Surge Learning,overseeing platform use, maintaining content and assignments, and supportingcare partners with access, troubleshooting, and compliance requirements. Qualifications Completionof a formal education program (Certificate, Bachelor’s, or Graduate level) in HumanResources or Education Minimum3 years of experience in a Human Resources, Education, or management role. Long-TermCare experience considered an asset. Strongknowledge of HR legislation, policies, and best practices. Exceptionalcommunication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Highlyproactive, innovative, and collaborative approach to work. Strongorganizational and analytical abilities.
