Status: Permanent full-time, 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 8:30am‑8:30pm including public holidays. Note, this posting is for an active vacancy. Salary: $74,028.74 - $87,411.79 annually. (Candidate qualifications will be considered when determining the starting salary) Location: This position is based out of 30 Centre St., Orangeville. Due to the nature of this program, this role is on‑site and/or community based. What You Will Do Conduct individual therapy sessions adhering trauma protocol and best practices Conduct comprehensive standardized mental health assessments, including risk assessments Devise and deliver therapeutic treatments to ensure progress toward goals, including management of crisis and life‑threatening behaviors Facilitate recovery and/or trauma‑oriented groups as needed, including developing new group materials Update all appropriate documentation within 24 hours of client contact Communicate information, both oral and written, regarding assessments, treatment plans and evaluations to the treatment team, client, referral source and other caregivers within practice/agency/legal guidelines Work effectively and collaboratively with teams, internal and external to CMHA/Peel Dufferin Establish and maintain professional alliances with collateral agencies/institutions Provide responsive integrated care to individuals seeking treatment for concurrent disorders Regularly assess for risk and respond with mitigation strategies, including providing crisis intervention and de‑escalation supports and connecting to crisis services when appropriate Participate in internal or external committees, including the Counselling Community of Practice, as requested by Manager This posting description indicates the key responsibilities and core functions of the position. What You Need to Join Our Team AMasters level degree in psychology, social work or relevant health or social science field required Registration with a regulatory college required Excellent understanding of Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF‑CBT) Minimum of 3 years’ experience in providing individual and group-based comprehensive Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Minimum 3 years of experience within the health services sector with in-depth knowledge of complex clinical issues Experience working with individuals who have complex mental health and addictions issues Experience working with individuals who engage in self‑harming and self‑injurious behaviours or who are at high risk to do so Demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team and evidence of an ability to collaborate and partner Working knowledge and/or an understanding of various disciplines; including but not exclusive of mental health, substance use, harm reduction, newcomer challenges and barriers faced by those in marginalized populations Demonstrated cultural competence, ability to work and apply practical understanding of different elements of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging as well as an understanding of social determinants of health and impact on vulnerable communities Knowledge of a variety of evidence-informed treatment modalities including motivational interviewing and trauma informed practices Experienced at engaging in matters that require sensitivity and empathy across a diverse community, excellent judgement, and discretion; ability to operate with various frameworks including culturally sensitive, anti‑racist, anti‑oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and intersectional Valid Canadian driver’s license and access to an insured automobile in good repair A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report Deadline to Apply: Thursday January 22nd at 5:00 PM At the Canadian Mental Health Association – Peel Dufferin Branch, we provide a wide array of community services, resources, and care for people with mental illness.
