**Barrantes & Associates Inc**. is seeking a Behaviour Associate devoted to helping clients achieve their goals. A successful applicant must:
- Maintain a high standard of care, compassion, and commitment.
- Have the proven ability to work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary setting.
- Have the proven ability to work with clients of all demographics; including, but not limited to clients with dual diagnoses, developmental disabilities, and complex behaviours.
- Be familiar with behaviour skills training and teaching replacement behaviours.
- Be familiar with task analysis, prompt fading, and identifying functions of behaviour.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain access to a vehicle for travel in the community.
- Possess valid First Aid and CPR training.
- Be able to obtain a valid, negative Vulnerable Sector Check.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain rapport with clients as required.
- Assist with and advocate for clients’ needs.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
- Create a supportive and collaborative environment in order to maximize clients’ potential.
- Provide urgent response for clients in crisis.
- Complete clinical documentation after each client visit.
- Collaborate and communicate with team members as needed.
**Other responsibilities**:
- Participate in ongoing professional development through company workshops and/or external learning opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.
**Education**:
- A successful applicant is a graduate of a recognized degree or diploma program (e.g., SSW, DSW, CYC, CYW, OTA/PTA, BSW, PSYCH, PSW).
**Experience**:
- 3+ years in the social service sector.
- Additional training in behaviour management and modification considered an asset.
- CPI/Safe Management Group training preferred.
- Fluency in ASL and/or adaptive language(s) is considered a strong asset.
