Our Public Sector Client is seeking a Senior Bilingual Translator with a strong background in energy-related translation.


Contract: 1 year (with possibility for two 1-year long extensions)

Location: Remote

Security: Valid Reliability clearance


What you must bring to this role

  • Minimum 10 years experience working as a translator . A minimum of 2 years experience within the past 5 years in technical and administrative translation, in the field of oil, gas and energy . *Please provide at least 2 different projects to demonstrate experience in this, and a description of each project.
  • Bilingual - Proficient in both English and French.

*Please provide 2-3 references .


What you will achieve in this role

  • Autonomously translate technical documents from English to French using a neural translation tool, including tables, symbols, graphics and illustrations
  • Synthesize complex material into structured, readable documentation
  • Adhere and contribute to in-house style guide and usage ruleset
  • Ensure use of required terminology through research and reference checks
  • Communicating technical concepts
  • Ensure that all translations are checked for quality and accuracy before being delivered to internal stakeholders
  • Revise complex translations and the work of junior translators
  • Contribute to a lexicon of French and English terms
  • Monitor and report on the performance of translation tools
  • Analyzing target audiences to define project requirements and planning content presentation, design and tone
  • Staying abreast of trends and developments in translation technology and the industry
