Position Summary: Darbix Biotech Inc is a startup biotechnology company based in Quebec that leverages MIT-based chemistry and machine learning to develop next-in-class mRNA therapeutics. Darbix is developing modified mRNAs to enable therapeutic possibilities currently very difficult to achieve with standard approaches. Our novel technology harnesses the power of chemistry coupled to machine learning to impact drug discovery and development for rare genetic diseases, vaccines and cancer. The Company is unlocking the potential to treat diseases currently unattainable with standard approaches. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Formulations and Cellular Delivery Scientist to join our growing research and development team in Montreal, Quebec. The successful candidate will be responsible for late-stage development, formulation, and biological testing of modified mRNA molecules to support the discovery and development of the Company’s next-generation therapeutics. This includes LNP formulation, biophysical characterization, cellular assays and cellular target development. This role is essential to advancing our modified mRNA-based therapeutic platforms and technologies. Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimize procedures for LNP formulation of mRNA, investigating compositions and in vitro characterization. Assess quality and integrity/stability of molecules using cell-based approaches, flow cytometry and ex vivo bioassays. Design in vivo studies to demonstrate Proof of Concept for novel therapeutics Provide leadership, mentorship, and day‐to‐day guidance to the laboratory team, ensuring clear priorities, high‑quality scientific execution, and effective coordination across projects. Serve as a scientific liaison by engaging with external partners to address scientific questions and support cross‑functional alignment. Analyze and interpret experimental data, present findings to internal teams, prepare data packages for grant applications and regulatory submissions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including molecular biology, chemistry, and machine learning. Maintain accurate and detailed electronic laboratory records and ensure data integrity.
