About Evovest and the role Do you want to contribute to the new technological era in portfolio management? Evovest is currently looking for a Senior Applied Research Scientist to participate in the development of the company. Evovest is an equity portfolio manager that systematizes the investment process through a scientific approach. As a Senior Applied Research Scientist, you’ll be responsible for the development of predictive modeling strategies. You will work closely with portfolio managers and data scientists to design, test, and deploy sophisticated quantitative solutions. This role demands strong statistical and probabilistic foundations as well as MLOps acumen to own code development from prototyping to deployment. Key Responsibilities Development of predictive models for equity price movements using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques. Design and implementation of the data acquisition and consumption pipelines needed by the production models. Development of portfolio optimization routines to maximize risk-adjusted returns and enforce sound risk management. Write clean, efficient, and documented code, adhering to good software practices. Continuously improve models and strategies based on market feedback and monitoring of performance metrics. Qualifications Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD), or equivalent, in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, computer science, financial engineering, mathematics, physics or actuarial science. Strong fundamentals in statistics and probability. Mastery of at least some classes of predictive modeling techniques and algorithms: classical ML, deep learning, time-series, etc. Proven expertise in developing models used for real-world decision making. Proficiency in high‑performance numerical computing and model development. Julia is preferred, but not required. Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control, testing and continuous integration. Proficiency in tabular/time‑series data wrangling and validation. Familiarity with financial data, public equities market dynamics and investment strategies. Experience with optimization techniques for portfolio construction or operational research. Work Conditions Base salary range of $140,000 to $160,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional variable compensation based on company profitability.
