Senior Mechanical Engineer

Join to apply for the Senior Mechanical Engineer role at AtkinsRéalis Our Mechanical Engineering Group in Atlantic Canada is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team based in one of our available office locations in either Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto-GTA, Sudbury, Winnipeg, Calgary or Vancouver. The role focuses on design and execution of projects with a primary emphasis on the National Defense Portfolio for upgrade and expansion of buildings and related base infrastructure across Canada. Subject matter expertise in mechanical building systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, building automation and sustainable building initiatives will set you apart. Project experience should include training centers, vehicle and fleet maintenance, research laboratories, operational headquarters, personnel accommodation and ancillary facilities. Infrastructure experience with Energy Centres, district energy distribution, and piped site utilities for industrial liquids and gases will be an additional asset. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining new and existing clients, coordinating skill sets with other offices and disciplines, and satisfying customer requirements. Your role within the team Lead role for the mechanical engineering commitments in accordance with scope, schedule, budget and procedures to ensure successful project completion. Resolve complex design/project execution issues through innovative solutions; apply project management principles to manage own projects and team members. Manage mechanical staff resources assigned to projects, mentor continuous development and participate in recruiting efforts. Provide technical guidance and quality assurance to ensure the technical adequacy of mechanical engineering project work. Participate in the preparation of estimates and project proposals (or coordinate resources to do so) and approve the estimates for Mechanical Engineering. Why choose AtkinsRéalis as an employer? The ideal candidate University Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with eligibility for registration with multiple provinces in Canada. 10+ years of relevant design experience, with significant exposure to National Defense projects. Experience in selection and specification of mechanical building systems and related site utilities. Working knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards. Experience in a consulting engineering environment, managing time, resources, and budget allocations. Strong client focus, including taking initiatives for business development, marketing, and responding to RFPs. Willing to occasionally travel to project sites within Canada. Ability to obtain CISD Level II (SECRET) Clearance. Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $114,800 - $157,850 annually (Only Applicable to British Columbia).
