The Opportunity: We're looking for an Architectural Department Manager to lead design projects for industrial facilities - including factories, warehouses, processing plants, and distribution centers - primarily in the food and beverage industry. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an architect who thrives on balancing creativity, technical precision, and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams. In this role, you'll oversee the full architectural design process from concept through completion, ensuring projects are functional, regulation-compliant, and meet client and operational needs. You'll play a key role in shaping spaces that drive innovation and efficiency within the industrial sector. What You'll Be Doing: Lead and manage design projects from planning to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and client goals are met. Prepare proposals, manage project documentation, and oversee permitting and approvals. Solve complex design challenges by making informed decisions on materials, structures, and layouts. Collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate architectural, structural, and mechanical systems. Mentor a team of technologists and foster an environment of innovation and collaboration. Identify opportunities for process improvement and incorporate sustainable and efficient design practices. Work directly with clients to understand their needs, present design solutions, and ensure an exceptional client experience. What You'll Need to Be Successful: Bachelor's degree in Architecture and OAA licensure in good standing. Minimum of 5 years of architectural experience, with a strong background in industrial or manufacturing facility design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, BIM, and 3D visualization tools (e.g., Lumion) is an asset. Deep understanding of the Ontario Building Code, zoning bylaws, and accessibility standards. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and specifications. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative mindset and commitment to client satisfaction. Compensation Range - $120,000 - $140,000
