About 1Password At 1Password, we’re building the foundation for a safe, productive digital future. Our mission is to unleash employee productivity without compromising security by ensuring every identity is authentic, every application sign‑in is secure, and every device is trusted. We innovated the market‑leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Extended Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human‑centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 180,000 businesses, from Fortune 100 leaders to the world’s most innovative AI companies, trust 1Password to help their teams securely adopt the SaaS and AI tools they need to do their best work. If you’re excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future. 1Password is seeking a strategic and analytically driven Director of Product Strategy to play a critical role in shaping the company’s future across the cybersecurity, identity, and productivity software markets. This high‑impact role will directly support the Chief Product Officer and collaborate with Product, Design, Corporate Development, Strategic Finance, and Marketing to define and drive the strategic direction of our product portfolio. As a Director of Product Strategy, you will lead product strategy development, identify growth opportunities, and ensure that our product vision and roadmap are grounded in data, market dynamics, and customer needs — positioning 1Password to win in a rapidly evolving landscape. This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US. Key Responsibilities: Product & Portfolio Strategy Partner with the CPO and Product Leadership team in strategic planning, long‑term roadmap development, and opportunity assessments. Define and evolve 1Password’s multi‑year product strategy, aligning it with company vision, customer outcomes, and market opportunities. Identify whitespace opportunities and emerging areas of differentiation across consumer, business, and developer markets. Develop frameworks for prioritization and portfolio management to optimize product investments. Strategic Insights & Planning Synthesize internal data, customer insights, and external trends to inform product direction and innovation strategy. Build and maintain an understanding of competitive positioning, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to guide decision‑making. Translate analysis into clear strategic recommendations for executives and product leaders. Cross‑functional Leadership Collaborate with Corporate Development and Strategic Finance on partnership and M&A evaluations aligned with product strategy. Partner with Marketing and Sales on positioning, messaging, and go‑to‑market alignment. Ensure that strategic initiatives are operationalized across teams through clear communication, frameworks, and metrics. Executive & Stakeholder Communication Prepare strategic briefings, product narratives, and board materials that articulate vision, priorities, and progress. Lead strategic reviews and facilitate alignment between Product, Design, and GTM organizations. What we are looking for: Experience & Background 7–10 years of experience in product strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, or related roles within SaaS, cybersecurity, or enterprise software. Proven success driving strategic alignment and product innovation across cross‑functional teams. Proven track record of leading and/or influencing across Product teams. Proven ability to lead and deliver larger product initiatives such as partnerships, market launches, market campaigns. Demonstrated understanding of AI and how it can enhance or impact this type of work. Demonstrated skill in fundamentals such as pricing, profitability, ROI, etc. Deep understanding of technology trends across cybersecurity, identity, and productivity markets. Skills & Capabilities Strategic thinker with strong synthesis and storytelling abilities — capable of distilling complexity into clarity. Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience in market sizing, opportunity assessment, and portfolio optimization. Highly collaborative and influential, with the ability to lead through context and alignment rather than authority. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at presenting to senior executives. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience in or with cybersecurity or identity companies is a strong plus. Familiarity with strategic planning and research tools such as Gartner, AlphaSense, or PitchBook. MBA or equivalent experience preferred but not required. Why join 1Password: At 1Password, we’re building a safer, simpler digital future for individuals and businesses everywhere. As Director of Product Strategy, you’ll help shape the direction of our portfolio, ensuring we anticipate market shifts, delight customers, and advance our leadership in a world where security, usability, and trust are paramount. USA‑based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $225,000 USD and $305,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. Our work is demanding, we strive for excellence, and the pace is fast. We need people who are keen to take on challenging problems, who seek feedback to grow, and who are driven to make an impact. If you’re looking for a place where you can settle into a comfortable routine, this might not be the right fit for you. We’re looking for individuals who are proven experts in their fields, as well as those who are highly adaptable, can thrive in ambiguity and through change, are curious, and above all deliver results.
