Senior Middleware Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Middleware Specialist to support a large-scale enterprise integration initiative. This hybrid role (3 days onsite at 222 Jarvis St., 2 days remote) focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing middleware solutions for platform modernization and seamless system integration. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in middleware technologies, deep knowledge of integration patterns, and proficiency across platforms like IBM ACE, WebSphere, MuleSoft, or Azure Integration Services. The role involves collaborating closely with architects, developers, and operations teams to ensure stable, secure, and scalable integration environments. Install, upgrade, and optimize enterprise integration tools (e.g., IBM ACE, WebSphere, MuleSoft). Develop integration solutions using REST, SOAP, messaging, and event-driven patterns. Monitor and troubleshoot performance, ensuring high availability and security compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address integration issues and align with project requirements. Support integrations with enterprise platforms such as CRM, ERP, or other systems. Implement automated deployment and recovery strategies. Produce comprehensive documentation including diagrams, configs, and operational procedures. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff. Qualifications Core Technical Expertise: 7+ years in middleware/integration roles within complex enterprise environments. Strong background in synchronous/asynchronous integration patterns and APIs. Experience supporting high-availability and performance-sensitive systems. Technology Proficiency: Expertise in middleware platforms: IBM ACE, WebSphere, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, or similar. Proficient with API management tools (e.g., IBM API Connect, Azure API Management). Familiar with messaging/event platforms (e.g., MQ, Kafka, JMS). Scripting and automation skills (Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform). Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles. Security knowledge (OAuth2.0, SAML, mTLS, API keys). Communication & Collaboration: Strong documentation and communication skills. Ability to translate business integration needs into technical solutions. Collaborative mindset with experience in cross-team leadership roles.
