RQ09381 - Middleware Specialist - Senior About the job RQ09381 - Middleware Specialist - Senior Job Description The Senior Middleware Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and optimization of middleware solutions that enable seamless integration between enterprise systems, applications, and external partners. This role requires deep technical expertise in middleware platforms such as IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) , WebSphere , MuleSoft , or similar ESBs , and a strong understanding of integration patterns, scalability, and system reliability. Working in collaboration with solution architects, developers, infrastructure, and operations teams, the specialist will ensure middleware platforms are secure, stable, and aligned with business and technical requirements. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and configure middleware integration solutions across multiple platforms and environments Install, upgrade, and maintain middleware platforms (e.g., IBM ACE, WebSphere, MuleSoft) to ensure optimal performance and availability Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions Ensure middleware services meet enterprise standards for security, resiliency, and compliance Develop and maintain technical documentation including topology diagrams, configuration settings, and operational procedures Monitor system performance, logs, and metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues Implement and manage automated deployment, failover, and backup strategies for middleware services Support integration with enterprise systems such as SharePoint , Microsoft Dynamics CRM , Siebel , and Curam Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior integration and operations staff SkillsExperience and Skill Set Requirements 1. Core Skills and Experience (40%) Minimum 7 years of experience in middleware/integration technologies in complex enterprise environments Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting integration solutions using middleware platforms Deep understanding of system integration patterns (synchronous/asynchronous, REST, SOAP, event-driven, messaging) Strong problem-solving skills with experience troubleshooting across multiple systems and layers (application, middleware, infrastructure) Experience supporting mission-critical systems with high availability and performance requirements 2. Technical Skills and Experience (30%) Expertise in middleware platforms such as IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM WebSphere, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, or similar ESBs Experience with API Gateway and Management platforms (e.g., IBM API Connect, Azure APIM) Proficiency in working with messaging and event platforms (e.g., MQ, Kafka, JMS, Event Grid) Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid integration scenarios Knowledge of security protocols and integration (OAuth2.0, SAML, mutual TLS, API keys) Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Siebel, Curam, or other COTS solutions Hands-on experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform) for middleware deployment and operations Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in integration environments 3. Communication and Documentation Skills (20%) Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience developing clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation Ability to translate business integration needs into technical requirements and solution designs Strong collaboration skills, with a track record of working in cross-functional teams and leading technical discussions Public Sector exp (10%) Must Have:.
