We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Facility Technician (DCFT) to join our team. As the first point of contact at our data center, you will ensure that the facility is maintained in a professional, secure manner while delivering top-tier customer service. This is a hands-on role involving the operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of HVAC equipment and electrical systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain HVAC and electrical systems, including UPS equipment and generators.
  • Provide 24/7 support, ensuring positive customer experiences at the data center.
  • Coordinate client escalations and assist contractors on-site.
  • Perform site inspections, shift walkthroughs, and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Follow and enforce Rogers policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist with special projects as needed.


Requirements:

  • Experience in data center operations, including infrastructure, cooling, and network cabling.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation and on-call availability.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma; trade school education or mechanical/electrical experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and fluent English communication.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical blueprints.


Preferred:

  • Experience in a Help Desk or Operations Centre within a Telecommunications/IT environment.


Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a credit check, criminal background check, and obtain Canadian Government Reliability Level Security Clearance.
