The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research programme. Candidates will be able to demonstrate how their research and teaching interests align with the DLSPH Academic Plan. Faculty members within the Dalla Lana School of Public Health teach at the undergraduate and graduate level. Qualifications • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a social or health science by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. • Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. • Scholarship that encompasses Black health studies, critical race theory, African/Black Feminist theorization, anti‑colonial studies, intersectional health experience, and related topics. • Evidence of commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment. Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence through a record of publications in top‑ranked and field‑relevant journals, forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees. Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below), and strong letters of reference. Salary Expected salary range: $130,000–$150,000 CAD per annum, depending on experience. Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
