Job Summary:

We are seeking a SharePoint Migration Specialist to lead the assessment and migration of our client’s existing SharePoint 2013 on-premises environment to a new platform. This role is critical for ensuring that our digital workspace continues to meet the evolving needs of our organization and our 3,000 users, approximately 500 of whom actively use SharePoint as a key repository for files and organizational information.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current SharePoint 2013 environment, which includes two front-end servers, one application server, and one database server, across five top-level web applications.
  • Perform a detailed audit to catalog all contents, features, and customizations present in the existing SharePoint web applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze the existing content and determine its relevance and functionality, to ensure effective migration.
  • Identify and evaluate potential migration paths and platforms, considering the latest industry standards and organizational needs.
  • Develop a robust architecture for the proposed migration solution, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and minimal business disruption.
  • Document all phases of the migration process from current state analysis to future state solution design.
  • Present and explain the proposed migration plan to various stakeholders, adjusting the strategy based on feedback and organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing and executing migration projects for SharePoint 2013 or similar platforms, especially in enterprise environments.
  • Deep understanding of SharePoint architecture, including front-end, application, and database server roles.
  • Strong analytical skills to perform audits and develop effective migration strategies.
  • Excellent project management skills to oversee the migration timeline, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Proficient in documenting technical environments and migration plans.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the latest SharePoint platforms and migration tools is highly preferred.
