Senior Applications Engineer

As a Senior Applications Engineer at TSS, you will be working closely with our sales and engineering teams to support customer engagements. The right candidate will have a combination of technical & problem solving skills, excellent communication skills, and a strong focus on customer success. This candidate will rise to meet the deep technical challenges of our customers, both at an individual level and through the mentorship and guidance of junior staff. Responsibilities and Duties Provide technical expertise and account management across the life cycle of TSS IP licensing engagements: pre-silicon integration; synthesis and PnR; packaging and platform development; post-silicon bring-up, and production. Manage incoming customer issues: triage problems; co-ordinate debugging across Applications and Design engineering teams; develop custom firmware for debugging and workarounds; drive issues to resolution. Develop tools and scripts to enhance/optimize customer support processes and debugging. Participate in the tracking, packaging, and deployment of customer releases. Technical Marketing/Pre-Sales Support: Deliver technical presentations and participate in industry trade shows. Contribute to sales and technical marketing materials, including: 1) Presentations, Application notes, FAQs, and Documentation; 2) Training, Lab, and Demonstration/Evaluation materials; 3) Silicon reports including functional and electrical characterization of TSS IP. Product/Validation Engineering: Participate in internal/customer bring-up and validation activities including: 1) Diagnostic and characterization of TSS interface IP products; 2) ESD, reliability and production test qualification for IP products. Understand emerging protocols and customer requirements to further improve TSS IP (may include future travel to customer locations, up to 25%). Requirements Bachelor/Master in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 4-8 years experience (applications engineering/customer-facing experience preferred). Excellent communication skills and problem solving skills. Professional experience with: 1) High-speed memory (LPDDR/HBM/GDDR) interfaces; 2) SOC memory sub-systems, configurations, and trade-off analysis; 3) Verification, validation, and debug of digital logic; integration of digital sub-systems/IP; 4) High-speed signal measurement, validation, and characterization; jitter measurement and analysis; 5) Operation of test instruments including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, BERTs, logic analyzer; 6) Programming, HDL, and scripting languages (C/C++, Verilog, Perl, Python, Tcl, etc).
