Our growing company is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager who will play a key role in strengthening our financial operations, reporting accuracy, and internal controls as we continue to expand. This role is best suited for an individual with strong financial reporting experience, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with Operations, Project Management, and Executive Leadership. Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with the Executive Management Team, the Financial Reporting Manager will oversee the Company’s financial reporting cycle, ensure compliance with accounting standards, support project cost analysis, optimize financial processes, and provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making. Position Responsibilities Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with ASPE or IFRS. Prepare and present monthly financial dashboards, KPI reports, and variance analyses to executive leadership. Develop and maintain standardized reporting templates to support consistent financial visibility across departments. Analyze financial trends, project costs, and operational performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations. Oversee corporate budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning activities. Manage and improve cashflow reporting, working capital analysis, and profitability tracking for all business units. Project & Operations Financial Support Partner with Project Managers to track project budgets, labour allocation, and cost‑to‑complete forecasts, ensuring alignment with project goals. Support Operations and the PMO with financial insights that improve project planning, resource allocation, and cost control. Monitor job costing accuracy in systems such as Knowify and ensure project financials reflect up‑to‑date information. Review progress billings, change orders, and contract terms to ensure accurate revenue recognition. Perform margin analysis on service contracts, retrofit projects, and major construction projects. Process Improvement & Internal Controls Evaluate, document, and enhance internal financial processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting, purchasing, spending, and billing. Reduce process gaps by collaborating with Operations, Service, Engineering, and Installation teams to streamline workflows. Identify and implement best practices for financial systems, reporting automation, and operational efficiency. Audit, Compliance & Governance Coordinate year‑end financial reviews or audits with external accountants. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal finance policies. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audits, tax filings, and internal reviews. Act as a key financial partner to senior management, contributing insights for strategic and operational decisions. Support PMO, Service, and Operations teams by interpreting financial results, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions. Collaborate cross‑departmentally to create a culture of financial accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Mentor junior accounting or finance staff, providing coaching that elevates organizational financial literacy. Qualifications & Skill Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation or candidate preferred). 5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or financial analysis. Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, and financial controls (experience in construction, HVAC, engineering, or service industry is a strong asset). Advanced proficiency in financial reporting tools and accounting software; experience with Knowify, Sage, or QuickBooks is an advantage. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present insights clearly. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while effectively collaborating with field and office teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines. A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with the ability to recommend improvements and drive change.
