The General Manager (GM) will play a key leadership role in driving Hive Retail Solutions’ operational excellence, growth strategy, and long-term vision. Reporting directly to the founder, the GM will oversee daily business operations, implement efficient processes, and lead high-performing teams to ensure scalable, client-focused outcomes. The GM will assist National Field Operations, the Brand Management Team and Business Development to break down complex problems, develop plans, assist in influencing and handling multiple brands/clients. They will also oversee business operations reporting, and balance workload across competing priorities. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities, adept at balancing innovation with operational discipline. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Founder and the executive team to develop and execute the company’s growth strategy and long-term vision. Translate strategic objectives into actionable business plans with measurable outcomes. Identify opportunities to scale service offerings, expand into new markets, and strengthen the company’s competitive advantage. Plan and implement change management programs along with HR. Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction. Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, processes, and systems to support scalability. Monitor performance metrics, analyze results, and recommend adjustments to drive continuous improvement. Lead resource planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Build and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Lead with empathy by understanding and responding to team members emotions and perspectives to build trust, improve performance and foster a positive, people centric culture. Ensure alignment of HR, finance, technology, and client service functions with business objectives. Support employee development, retention, and engagement initiatives. Facilitate management meetings and coach the management team. Manage the Performance Management Program with HR. Map out KPI’s for all managers to implement with their teams. Ensure the effective implementation, integration, management, and continuous improvement of operational systems and applications that support business processes, workforce management, communication and execution. Drive high adoption rates, ensuring team members use tools effectively to improve collaboration, productivity and accountability. Identify opportunities to streamline operations by leveraging system functionalities, integrations and automation. Manage relationships with software vendors, renewals, licensing and costs. Oversee training initiatives and support mechanisms to ensure all users are equipped to use systems effectively. Ensure systems provide reliable data and insights to support decision-making and that dashboards / reports are accurate and aligned with business KPIs. Evaluate emerging tools and technologies to improve operational capabilities and align with business goals. Maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Ensure delivery of client solutions meets or exceeds expectations. Represent Hive Retail Solutions at industry events, conferences, and client engagements. Ensure compliance with employment standards, legal obligations, and regulatory requirements across operating jurisdictions. Establish and monitor risk management practices to safeguard company reputation and financial health. Qualifications & Skills Proven track record (10+ years) in senior operational or executive roles, preferably in retail solutions, consulting, or professional services. Strong understanding of retail operations, outsourcing models, and Merchandising. Demonstrated success in scaling operations and driving organizational growth. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels. Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management. Strategic mindset paired with a hands-on, execution-focused approach. Seniority level: Executive.
