We are currently looking for a Combined Lab and X-Ray Technologist (CLXT) to join our team in Wabasca— a close-knit northern community known for its scenic landscape and cultural richness. This is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to rural health care while broadening your clinical expertise across both laboratory and diagnostic imaging disciplines. This position includes day shifts and on-call duties with occasional early evening shifts. In addition to a competitive rate of pay and eligibility for relocation assistance, Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) currently offers a Remote Retention Allowance—up to a maximum of $3,000 annually. This non-pensionable allowance is paid hourly for all hours worked at the basic rate of pay. Description: As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required. Classification: Combined Lab/X-Ray Tech I Union: HSAA FAC PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Laboratory & DI Primary Location: Wabasca/Desmarais Healthcare Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.50 Posting End Date: 26-NOV-2025 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 06-DEC-2025 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 4 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends, On Call Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $35.45 Maximum Salary: $46.69 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT). Additional Required Qualifications: As Required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in Wabasca, along with proficiency in Vitros XT, Triage, iSTAT, ACL Elite Pro, Clinitek, and Sysmex analyzers, is preferred.
