About the role This individual will work remotely with a global team and must support C‑level clients who themselves are global. We are seeking a seasoned technology business leader with specialized experience in cloud operating models and the role of cloud in supporting AI solutions. The role will serve as an authoritative voice in analyzing market trends, forecasting industry developments, and providing actionable insights to clients navigating the rapidly evolving AI landscape for Cloud Services. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge of AI technologies in the cloud, strong business acumen, and exceptional research capabilities. Experience may include working with a major hyperscaler or an IT service provider managing AI solutions on a hyperscaler (cloud) infrastructure. What you will do Research and Analysis Conduct in‑depth qualitative and quantitative research on emerging AI technologies and their application in Cloud IT and business services. Design and implement comprehensive market research studies to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities in the AI sector. Develop market forecasts and predictions about AI adoption, implementation challenges, and potential business impacts. Analyze complex datasets to extract meaningful insights into AI market trends, competitor movements, and customer needs. Monitor and evaluate the competitive landscape across cloud and AI vendors, solutions, and service providers. Content Development and Thought Leadership Create compelling, high‑quality research reports and thought leadership content on AI technologies and their business applications for hyperscalers. Develop frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to help organizations successfully implement cloud and AI solutions. Ideate, scope, and produce forward‑looking research that addresses critical challenges faced by business and technology leaders. Prepare and deliver tailored briefings for clients that translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights. Contribute to research agenda development by identifying emerging areas of interest in AI. Collaborate with Gartner colleagues in the development of research positions related to AI and cloud IT and business services. Client Engagement and Advisory Serve as a trusted advisor to C‑level clients on AI strategy, implementation approaches, and vendor selection for cloud models. Conduct briefings and advisory sessions to help C‑level clients navigate complex AI decisions and investments. Present research findings at industry events, webinars, and client conferences. Build and maintain relationships with industry thought leaders, vendors, and practitioners in the AI space. Support sales teams by providing expert insights during C‑level client conversations. What you will need Technical Knowledge applicable to Cloud Services Deep understanding of AI technologies including machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI. Deep understanding of agentic AI, including the application of AI technology to business processes and other enterprise AI solutions. Deep understanding of cloud operating models and the role of cloud in supporting AI solutions at the platform and infrastructure layer. Research And Analytical Skills Strong qualitative and quantitative research methodology expertise. Advanced analytical thinking and ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights. Experience designing research frameworks and data collection methods. Ability to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in large datasets. Critical thinking skills to question assumptions and validate findings. Business and Industry Knowledge Comprehensive understanding of IT and business (cloud) services markets. Knowledge of AI implementation challenges across different industries for Cloud Services. Understanding of regional differences in AI capabilities, adoption trends, regulatory requirements, etc. for cloud models. Awareness of ethical, regulatory, and governance issues surrounding AI deployment. Understanding of the impact of AI on enterprise cloud services procurement and decision‑making processes. Ability to translate services technical capabilities into business value propositions. Communication And Presentation Skills Exceptional writing abilities with experience creating research reports and thought leadership content. Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complex topics to non‑technical audiences. Experience conducting interviews with industry experts and C‑level general managers. Ability to facilitate discussions and working sessions with diverse stakeholder groups. Clear communication of data‑driven insights that drive business decisions. Ability to communicate with technology and business leaders. Education And Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree or PhD preferred in fields such as Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or related disciplines. Understanding of market research, business analysis, technology consulting, or similar areas is valued. Strong understanding of AI technologies and their business applications. Experience working in research and advisory, consulting, or comparable environments is preferred. Ability to produce high‑quality research and client‑facing deliverables.
