Overview DIRECTOR, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY The Director of Information Technology role reports to the Senior Director Information Technology and is responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies to enable ABmunis to deliver against defined short-term and long-term business objectives. The Director also assists in ensuring the continuity and efficiency of IT Operations and provides leadership for activities, projects, and initiatives with appropriate project management rigor. Responsibilities Participate in ABmunis IT strategic planning activities to identify and document emerging needs and requirements supporting the Senior Director. Participate in the development and execution of the IT operational plan. Participate in IT Governance (Policies, Standards, Procedures) supporting the Senior Director, and contribute to IT Security and Data Protection activities. Work with the Senior Director to prioritize, plan, and schedule IT activities. Develop, document, and maintain project structure and approach with clearly defined roles and responsibilities. Assist the Senior Director in resourcing projects according to the approved schedule. Support new IT requests related to assessment of scope, operational planning, and initiation of activities and projects. Support solution selection criteria to ensure best practice decision-making when implementing infrastructure, applications, middleware, monitoring, and tools. Support existing technical strategies adopted within ABmunis. Participate in identifying, developing, and delivering ABmunis training opportunities. Operate within the IT team as a resource when required and maintain knowledge of the overall department function. Provide leadership, direction, guidance, and coaching to team members; manage multiple concurrent projects; ensure effective communications. Interact with Senior Director via meetings, reports, and presentations; prepare and develop key metrics; support IT functions in the Senior Director’s absence. Must live in the Edmonton area as this position requires in-office presence during working hours. Qualifications and Skills Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computing Sciences or relevant discipline; equivalent work experience or certifications considered. 7–10 years of progressive IT experience with emphasis on project management and delivery. Experience managing service providers and third-party contracts. Certifications (asset): PMP or equivalent; ITIL or equivalent; CISSP or equivalent; MCSA/MCSE or equivalent; AZ-305 or equivalent; PL-200 or equivalent; MB-230, MB-220, MB-210 or equivalent; SC-400 or equivalent. Planning, organizing, and integrating: ability to work under pressure, manage multiple high-priority activities, and lead/mentor; strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to understand system functionality, processes, and architecture at technical and business levels; ability to identify improvement opportunities. Communicating and influencing: strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to track, monitor, and report; effective presentation and stakeholder management; ability to propose process improvements and technical solutions; coordination with support providers. #J-18808-Ljbffr
