Role Overview Are you passionate about wildlife safety , remote work , and Arctic adventure ? Join us as a Wildlife Monitor and help protect personnel working in some of Canada’s most unique environments. You’ll travel to remote northern sites , assess wildlife risks, and implement safety measures to prevent dangerous encounters. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in wilderness safety , wildlife deterrent handling , and northern operations . Key Responsibilities Monitor and assess wildlife risks during outdoor operations. Provide safety guidance and instructions to teams. Deter wildlife interactions using approved deterrents (bear, bear spray, whistles). Support seasonal projects, including sealift operations. Ensure compliance with Nasittuq’s safety and environmental procedures. Communicate effectively with diverse teams. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent. Certifications & Licenses: Valid Possession Acquisition License (PAL). Basic Wildlife Monitor or Wildlife Safety Technician Certification. Wilderness First Aid CPR + AED Certification (or ability to obtain). Ability to obtain and maintain Reliability Security Clearance. Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar role (e.g., hunter, guide, camp safety officer). Skills & Abilities: Strong knowledge of northern wildlife (bears, wolves, wolverines). Comfortable traveling by helicopter and small aircraft. Physically fit for Arctic terrain and conditions. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
