Senior Structural Engineer At AtkinsRéalis Overview Join to apply for the Senior Structural Engineer role at AtkinsRéalis Responsibilities Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management. Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry and prepare design documents and compile engineering packages. Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs such as SAP2000, STAAD Pro and other structural programs. Ensure compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations, and ensure the adequacy of design for permits and compliance with approved plans. Accountable for delivering all engineering deliverables/tasks to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets. Provide technical instructions to junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation. Review and comment on the work performed by others to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation. Check the work performed meets the quality requirements in accordance with company QA programs and manuals. Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as may be mandated for the design changes in question. Prepare engineering estimate and technical write-up for proposals. Perform plant walkdowns as and if required in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications. About You Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University. Master's degree and above is an asset. Must be licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada. Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Minimum 12 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures. Would prefer someone with 3 to 5 years of design experience in Nuclear Power Plants. Deep and thorough understanding of structural engineering gained through a combination of design-office and site experience. Thorough knowledge of Canadian and International Codes and standards used in Civil/Structural engineering. Thorough knowledge of use of analysis software commonly used in Civil/Structural engineering such as StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc. Must have experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations. Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment. Travel to client site is required.
