Position:

 

Unifor has a permanent opportunity as a Bilingual Payroll Administrator in the Accounting department. This role is responsible for all payroll processes, including the management of employee data, ensuring the accuracy of timesheets, computing wages, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time. To succeed, you should have strong numeracy skills and be able to multitask effectively. Ultimately, an outstanding Payroll Administrator should be able to manage all aspects of payroll in a timely and accurate manner.


Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Processing wages for Unifor staff;
  • Calculating payable hours (where applicable i.e. timesheets), allowances, union dues, overtime, pension contributions, sub plan, monthly bridge, tax withholdings and deductions within a pan Canadian environment and a weekly remittance schedule to CRA and Revenu Québec;
  • Maintaining employee records and coordinating with the Administration to ensure accuracy of employee data (HRIS: Sage People);
  • Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters, in French and English;
  • Calculating statutory payments, such as maternity/parental, sabbatical, and sick leave;
  • Calculating vacation payouts;
  • Preparing and issuing earnings statements, as ROE, T4 and T4A, Relevé 1 Relevé 2, and WSIB and EHT annual reconciliation report;
  • Managing direct deposit and bill back for union business;
  • Submitting payroll weekly and monthly reports and sheets on time to the Finance Department;
  • Year end: Processing year to date adjustments.


Position requirements:

 

  • PCP Certification required or working towards;
  • Bilingual French and English;
  • High School diploma/GED required;
  • Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred;
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a Payroll Administrator;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Sage 300;
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Good time management and organization skills;
  • Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations;
  • Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.

Unifor cherche à pourvoir un poste permanent de gestionnaire de paie bilingue pour son Service de la comptabilité. Le ou la titulaire de ce poste est responsable de l’ensemble des processus de paie, y compris la gestion des données relatives aux employés, la vérification de l’exactitude des feuilles de temps, le calcul des salaires et la garantie que les employés sont payés correctement et en temps opportun. Pour ce faire, vous devez posséder de solides compétences en calcul et être capable d’effectuer efficacement plusieurs tâches à la fois. Un excellent gestionnaire de paie doit être en mesure de gérer tous les aspects de la paie en temps opportun et de manière précise.


Responsabilités du poste :

 

  • Traiter les salaires du personnel d’Unifor;
  • Calculer les heures rémunérables (le cas échéant, à savoir les feuilles de temps), les allocations, les cotisations syndicales, les heures supplémentaires, les cotisations au régime de pension, le plan complémentaire, le raccordement mensuel, les retenues d’impôt et les déductions dans un environnement pancanadien et un calendrier de versement hebdomadaire à l’ARC et à Revenu Québec;
  • Tenir à jour les dossiers des employés et assurer la coordination avec l’administration pour garantir l’exactitude des données relatives aux employés (SIRH : Sage People);
  • Fournir des informations et répondre aux questions des employés sur les questions liées à la paie, en français et en anglais;
  • Calculer les indemnités réglementaires, telles que les congés de maternité/parental, sabbatiques et de maladie;
  • Calculer les paies de vacances;
  • Préparer et émettre des relevés de revenus, tels que ROE, T4 et T4A, Relevé 1, Relevé 2, et rapport de réconciliation annuel de la CSPAAT et de l’ISE;
  • Gérer le dépôt direct et la facturation pour les activités du syndicat;
  • Soumettre à temps au Service des finances les rapports et feuilles de paie hebdomadaires et mensuels;
  • Fin d’année : Traiter les ajustements depuis le début de l’année.


Exigences du poste :

 

  • Accréditation PPQ requise ou travaille actuellement à obtenir;
  • Bilinguisme (français et anglais);
  • Diplôme de fin d’études secondaires/formation générale exigé;
  • Diplôme en administration des affaires, en finance ou en comptabilité de préférence;
  • 3-5 ans d’expérience en tant que gestionnaire de paie;
  • Maîtrise de Microsoft Excel et de Sage 300;
  • Solides aptitudes numériques et souci du détail;
  • Excellentes capacités de communication, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit;
  • Bonne gestion du temps et sens de l’organisation;
  • Connaissance pratique des règles juridiques applicables;
  • Capable d’établir des priorités et d’effectuer plusieurs tâches à la fois de manière efficace.
