Job Summary In this role you actively participate in a wide variety of complex senior debt lending mandates comprised of both bilateral and syndicated transactions headed by senior members of the National Client Group lending team. Responsibilities Support the day‑day management of the Ontario National Client Group credit portfolio and assist with the execution of new lending opportunities/mandates as needed. Perform high‑quality credit analysis and deal structuring activities in accordance with Bank standards while partnering with the Director(s), National Client Group (Execution and Relationship Management), in managing and growing an existing portfolio(s) of complex lending relationships. Perform transaction financial modeling (Microsoft Excel, S&P Capital IQ) and Borrower Risk Ratings on a portfolio of existing and prospective clients. Independently manage an assigned portfolio of Annual Reviews while working collaboratively with Directors on more complex renewals. Assist Directors by working closely with financial advisors, private equity sponsors and internal banking partners (i.e. derivative hedging, loan syndications and investment banking) to perform required due diligence on prospective new transaction opportunities. Work in close collaboration with other Associates and Client Account Representatives on credit submission requests and ensure that client and collateral files are updated in a timely manner. Assist the Head of Credit Execution, as required, in ensuring the credit quality of the National Client Group portfolio. Qualifications Hold a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field. Professional designation(s) and/or an advanced degree is considered a strong asset. 3 to 5 years of experience in Corporate or upper mid‑market Commercial Banking. Strong knowledge of credit underwriting, loan structuring (bilateral/syndicated transactions) and financial statement analysis. Proficiency in the creation of PowerPoint presentations, confidential information memoranda and other written documents. Benefits Health and wellness program. Flexible group insurance. Team & Work Environment As a part of the Ontario National Client Group team, you are part of a dynamic and highly motivated team of about thirty colleagues, and you report to the Director & Team Lead, Execution, National Client Group. The portfolio consists of a balance of large Canadian private businesses coupled with private equity sponsor‑backed deals across diversified industries (both bilateral and syndicated transactions). Working hours are largely dictated by portfolio demands with occasional non‑standard working hours under a hybrid working model (possibility of working from home up to 3‑days a week).
