Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, the Senior Counsel will support our operational teams with a broad range of responsibilities to help support and grow the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of industry-specific and general commercial contracts between project participants Working closely with other internal professionals including finance, safety, real property, regulatory and procurement teams Guiding operational management through various forms of dispute resolution, including litigation Taking the lead on internal training sessions to ensure the various teams throughout GIP are aware of best practices Assisting the legal team when GIP is involved in M&A transactions

Position Requirements:

Licensed practitioner in the province of Ontario (called to the Ontario bar since at least 2019). Strong general commercial practice with a desire to learn and grow with our business partners. Experience in Construction/Infrastructure Law would be an asset. Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills - bilingualism (English and French) would be an asset. Experience in the construction / civil engineering industry preferred. Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyse and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business. Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives. Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities. Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.
