MANAGER OF FINANCE AND FACILITIES Amnesty International Canada invites applications for the Manager of Finance and Facilities role. This full‑time, one‑year contract position starts in January/February 2026 and works in a hybrid environment (Ottawa or Toronto office). The role requires occasional travel and a commitment to our anti‑racism, anti‑oppression, diversity, equity and inclusion principles. Summary Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, the Manager of Finance and Facilities is responsible for managing all accounting functions—maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and donor database integrity—while also overseeing building and property maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management. The position includes leading budgeting, audit processes, financial controls, and building a high‑performing Finance and Facilities team. What You’ll Do Assist with the preparation of monthly and year‑end financial statements for internal and external use and for required reporting to the International Secretariat (IS). Prepare and submit filings to the CRA and other relevant bodies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and funding requirements. Lead the annual budgeting and external audit processes, developing and maintaining strong internal financial controls. Develop models, forecasts, dashboards, and analytical tools to improve planning and decision‑making. Supervise general accounting duties (A/P, A/R, payroll, G/L analysis) ensuring records are maintained per accounting principles. Manage and oversee facilities operations for all AICSES sites, covering mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management. Build, manage, and nurture a highly effective Finance and Facilities Management team to maximize performance, cohesion, and impact. Education Minimum Qualifications: Advanced university education in Accounting or Finance and a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA). Experience 5–7 years of job‑related experience, preferentially in the non‑profit industry. Proven track record in: Reporting and analysis Budgeting and forecasting Managing multi‑site facilities operations Leading cross‑functional teams Knowledge and Skills Up‑to‑date knowledge of sector‑specific accounting, CRA rules, and health and safety regulations. Ongoing professional education to meet CPA/professional designation requirements. Continual professional development in facilities management, including construction, administration, safety, security, and property management. Desired Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management or a similar qualification such as an FMP would be an asset.
