Serving as a key member of the executive management team for the organization, the Director must also work closely and collaboratively with all team members of the City, as well as other partners such as K’ómoks First Nation, the Comox Valley Regional District, and the provincial government, among others. As the ideal candidate, you are a trustworthy and contemporary leader with a passion for public service. You have a demonstrated track record of working collaboratively with a wide variety of partners in order to develop sustainable solutions and effect change to improve operations and service delivery. You have a reputation for being an experienced manager who can lead and engage a diverse team of functional professionals and experts, and coach and mentor for future succession. In addition, you bring an exceptional reputation for achieving results in a multi‑partner environment, taking a systems view of issues. Education & Experience Substantial experience in the community planning field, with considerable related experience at a senior management level in a local government setting. Degree in Land Use Planning from a Canadian Institute of Planners accredited Planning Program is preferred, or an equivalent post‑secondary degree and work experience. Member in good standing with the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Planning Institute of BC. Targeted salary range: $144,657 - $164,383 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
