Events East Group (EEG) is a world‑class special purpose government organization jointly owned by the Province of Nova Scotia and Halifax Regional Municipality. EEG has been recognized globally with awards for hosting marquee national and international events, delivering Maritime hospitality and supporting local economic and cultural impact. EEG is responsible for the Halifax Convention Centre and the Scotiabank Centre, the largest multipurpose events venue in Atlantic Canada. After a decade of exceptional leadership by the current President & Chief Executive Officer, the EEG Board of Directors is recruiting a new leader to shape the region’s event and entertainment landscape. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead the organization to achieve strategic growth and impact, building on a strong reputation, operational excellence, and robust local and international partnerships. The CEO is responsible for setting the strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, and driving overall organizational success. The public face of the organization, the CEO works closely with the Board, stakeholders, and senior leadership to fulfill the organization’s mission and long‑term goals. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and/or professional designation with a minimum of seven years of executive experience at the VP/ C‑suite level of a mid‑to‑large complex organization. Knowledge of event, convention, tourism or hospitality sectors is a definite asset as is understanding of public sector governance. The CEO has a history of leading with strategic intent and navigating complexity, and significant experience in stakeholder and key partner relationship management. He/she is a strong communicator, comfortable representing the organization to external audiences.
