Base pay range CA$200,000 – CA$280,000 per year Location Any Canadian Steer office location (Toronto or Vancouver) Reports to Executive President, North America Role Overview The Vice President / Senior Vice President, Canada is responsible for driving Canadian revenue growth by developing and executing a Canada‑specific go‑to‑market strategy in Steer’s current and emerging business lines, and building and developing the Canadian team to ensure the right talent, capabilities, and leadership are in place. Key Responsibilities Drive Canadian revenue growth by developing and executing a Canada‑specific go‑to‑market strategy. Build and develop the Canadian consulting team, ensuring the right talent, capabilities, and leadership are in place. Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key public and private sector decision‑makers across Canada. Anticipate and respond to Canadian market trends, regulatory changes, and funding opportunities. Lead the preparation and delivery of winning proposals and presentations tailored to Canadian clients. Negotiate and secure high‑value contracts, ensuring alignment with Steer’s commercial objectives. Oversee project delivery to align with client expectations and mentor project managers to successful and profitable outcomes. Recruit, mentor, and develop high‑performing staff across service areas, with a focus on leadership succession and specialized expertise. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance culture within the Canadian offices. Represent Steer at Canadian industry conferences, government roundtables, and other public forums. Promote Steer’s brand through professional networks and speaking opportunities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s preferred). 15+ years in transportation consulting, with significant leadership responsibility for business development and team growth in Canada. Proven track record of securing large‑scale consulting assignments in Canadian markets. Experience advising clients on transportation strategy, policy, and planning issues. Skills & Attributes Strong Canadian transportation market network. Proven leadership in building and scaling teams. Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills. Deep understanding of Canadian transportation policy, funding, and delivery models. Willingness to travel within Canada and to the US.
