Role:

The Account Manager’s mandate is to be responsible for achieving sales targets, growth and customer call cycles within an assigned customer base by selling and promoting Left Coast Natural’s products and services. Building strong customer relations and upholding the core values of the organization.

 

Reports to : Sales Manager

 

Responsibilities:


1.   Sales:

·      Present and sell company products and services to current key accounts both at head office and at store level, as well as develop new customer relationships in the territory

·       are met and prepare action plans to meet these targets.

·      Sell distribution, merchandising (promotions and ads), shelving, display, demos and pricing recommendations to current and potential customers.

·      Performs periodic audits to ensure distribution, shelving and displays meet company objectives.

·      Periodically assists in shelf resets and new store openings (for bulk bins) based on customer needs.

·      Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints

·      Coordinates sales efforts with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and customer service

·      Communicate new product opportunities, special developments, information, feedback, competitive activities gathered in the field to appropriate company staff

·      Participates in trade shows and conventions

·      Develop and implement special sales activities to help improve sell-through or clear-outs.

·      Completes management requests accurately and in a timely manor

·      Assists Finance for collection of payment

·      Ensure all necessary administrative tasks (new account set-up, expenses, credit claims etc.) are completed accurately and in a timely manner

·      Other duties as assigned

 

2.   Call Management:

 

·      Maintains regular key account call cycles as identified by the manager with objectives for each call.

·      Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers, both at head office and at store level, and prospective customers.

·      Plans and organizes personal sales strategy to maximize time management within the territory

·      Provides management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services within the territory

 

 

Qualifications:

·      Education: post-secondary education preferred

·      Experience: 3-5 years in the natural food industry, ideally with regional chains eg. Nature’s Emporium, Healthy Planet, Longo’s, The Big Carrot, Ambrosia. Bulk Foods Category experience a plus

·      Able to work both independently and within a team environment

·      Proven ability to grow revenues in the territory

·      Proven ability to develop key account plans and meet or exceed expectations against them

·      Excellent customer relations skills with willingness to do what it takes

·      Strong analytical skills and ability to turn analysis into effective strategies and plans

·      Strong time management and organizational skills, and ability to handle administrative requirements

·      Excellent oral and written communication skills

·      Excellent sales and marketing skills with proven follow through

·      Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

·      Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver abstract

·      Access to a vehicle appropriate for the role
