About The Role Join one of the world’s leading renewable energy consulting firms, dedicated to advancing a just energy transition and mitigating climate change You will work alongside a team of seasoned experts delivering technical due diligence and advisory support across Independent Engineering (debt and tax equity), Markets & Acquisitions (M&A), Owner’s Engineering, and Electrical Engineering consulting engagements in the North American market and beyond. In this role, you will apply your expertise in power systems, electronics, controls, and instrumentation to support project design, development, and construction. You will contribute to a dynamic, high performing team by driving innovation, delivering customer value, fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and identifying opportunities for team growth and improvement. This position can be located in our Toronto, ON; Calgary, AB; Montreal, QC offices, presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Further details regarding role-specific requirements will be shared during the interview process. Other DNV offices may also be considered. What You’ll Do Depending on your skills and interests, you’ll contribute to a wide range of technical and strategic initiatives, which include: Act and lead as a collaborative Electrical Engineering subject matter expert across projects Author and review technical reports cross organizationally with internal teams (Independent Engineering, M&A Advisory, Owner’s Engineering) Critically assess transmission, substation, and collection system designs, with a focus on safety, cost, and functionality Lead proposal development and manage small to medium-sized consulting projects Drive business development by identifying client needs, shape service offerings, and cultivate long-term relationships with key accounts Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, prototype, and deploy AI-powered tools that support engineering analysis, automation, and decision-making Contribute to market positioning and thought leadership (committees, conferences, webinars, whitepapers, blog posts) Review electrical designs and associated studies for solar, onshore/offshore wind, high-voltage substations, and other electric system components Perform or review power system studies (grounding, reactive power, cable ampacity, collection system design) Provide guidance and training in electrical commissioning, safety, and procedures Participate in field and analytical work across the full spectrum of electric power systems, with frequent interaction with turbine, solar, energy analysis, environmental, and civil engineering experts Ce que vous ferez En fonction de vos services et cultivez des relations à long terme avec les grands comptes Collaborer avec des équipes interfonctionnelles pour conceptualiser, prototyper et déployer des outils alimentés par l’IA Contribuer au positionnement sur le marché et au leadership éclairé (comités, conférences, webinaires, livres blancs, billets de blog) Examiner les conceptions électriques et les études associées pour l’énergie solaire, l’éolien, les sous-stations et d’autres composants du système électrique Effectuer ou réviser des études de système d’alimentation (mise à la terre, puissance réactive, courant admissible du câble, conception du système de collecte) Fournir des conseils et de la formation en matière de mise en service, de sécurité et de procédures électriques Participer aux travaux de in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university 7+ years’ relevant experience in renewable energy projects (e.g., wind, solar, battery, hydrogen, and/or power electronics) Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE or PEng) Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, NEC, and CIGRE standards and guidelines Experience in electrical system design and construction (distribution, substation, generation) and electrical system studies/modelling Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or other platforms used in engineering analytics, complemented with AI accelerators Strong oral and written communication skills in English The employee would be required to serve customers by in-person, email and by phone, both in Quebec and in the rest of Canada, and in the United States We conduct pre-employment background
