What You Can Expect to Do Here Participate in the design of plans, preliminary estimations and details for transportation, commercial, and industrial building projects. Electrical design for building power distribution, fire alarm, grounding, lightning protection, emergency power, and life safety generator systems. Provide day‑to‑day guidance to the design team, act as design lead on projects, represent WSP to clients, and prepare calculations, conceptual and detail designs, technical specifications, installation details, permit/tender/post‑tender services, and perform contract administration services. Prepare contract documents, handle professional signing and sealing, and work with project managers, senior engineers, designers, and 3D modelers to submit projects for permit and tender. What You’ll Bring to WSP Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and registered P.Eng. 10 to 15 years of experience designing electrical systems for transportation, commercial, and industrial building projects, including power distribution, grounding, fire alarm, fire protection, lightning protection, arc‑flash study, emergency power, and life safety. Complete understanding of building electrical engineering requirements, codes and standards, including Ontario Building Codes (OBC), OESC, CEC, CSA, NFPA, IEEE, ASHRAE, etc. Strong technical background to guide and mentor intermediate and junior engineers. Liaise with contractors and defend electrical designs. Review and prepare installation details, provide technical calculations and specifications.
