THE OPPORTUNITY: TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT LEARNING & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (TECHNICAL & RESOURCE SUPPORT D)

In this position, you will:

Perform user requirements analysis, research and provide recommendations and advice for functional and user interaction design for website, applications, SharePoint development and configuration

Perform user and system analysis, problem solving and support for public website, employee intranet, web applications and Microsoft 365 tools administration and maintenance

Coordinate, guide, advise and train LIT members, application users as well as the non-VSB public

Liaise and consult with external technology vendors

Document and contribute to planning, communicates and enforces technology standards and polices

Maintain the quality, accuracy, security, privacy and integrity of VSB information systems and data

Coordinate, guide and train the live streaming team during Board meetings and Committee meetings; share presentation materials on behalf of the Superintendent and Committee during the live broadcast to the public

Provide technical and resource support to the Division

Perform other work within the job band as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of grade 12 plus four (4) years of post-secondary in Computer Science or four (4) years of full-time equivalent post-secondary training in relevant technology discipline

More than five (5) years of experience in analysis and functional design of websites, applications, and technical solutions

Experience with the administration and configuration of Microsoft 365 tools and the configuration of Microsoft Teams

Ability to design for different screen sizes and browser specifications, including mobile browser and tablets

Ability to work independently to complete assigned projects and establish and maintain effective working relationships

Must be able to work independently with little direction, exercise a high level of initiative, strong analytical skills and judgement and demonstrate excellent communication skills

COMPENSATION

The salary for this position is $39.79/hour (paid as 7 hours/day) plus a comprehensive benefits package, including Municipal Pension Plan, Vancouver Employee Savings Plan, Extended Health, Dental, Group Life, Long Term Disability, Vacation, & Gratuity Days.

This position is 100% on-site (in-person) at the VSB Office (1580 West Broadway).
