Job Summary

: The York Region District School Board is seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the repair, installation, and maintenance of our technology and information services. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of our network infrastructure, servers, and various technology devices.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support and maintenance for our technology infrastructure, including servers, network components, and various devices.
2. Administer security measures on hardware, software, and network communications equipment to ensure the integrity of our systems.
3. Collaborate with our team to develop and implement technology solutions that meet the needs of our students, staff, and community.
4. Provide training and support to users on various software applications and technology tools.
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements, and make recommendations for improvements to our IT infrastructure.
6. Work collaboratively with our team to ensure the delivery of high-quality technology services that support the educational goals of our district.
7. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology.

Requirements:
1. A valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License.
2. A two-year post-secondary technical diploma or certification in a recognized computer/electronics program, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
3. Significant experience in technology operations, including servers, network design, and various technology devices.
4. Working knowledge of computer programs currently used in the district, and ability to direct users in applications.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, maintaining a professional attitude and confidentiality in working relationships with all school personnel, students, parents, contractors, suppliers, and the public.
6. Understanding and knowledge of safe work practices.
7. Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
