Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Red Seal Certified Carpenter Site Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of carpentry tasks, including but not limited to:


Requirements:

-       Red Seal Certification in Carpentry

-       Minimum of 10 years of experience in carpentry and ability to direct site

-       Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements

-       Ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards

-       Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship

-       Framing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures with strong layout abilities  

-       Constructing, installing, and repairing cabinets, shelves, doors, and other wooden components

-       Install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems

-       Performing general carpentry duties as required on construction sites

-       Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware

-       Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise

-       Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

-       Collaborating with other tradespeople and contractors as part of a team

-       Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams (apprentices & other construction workers) effectively

-       Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders

-       Finishing carpentry skills and knowledge an asset

-       Ability to prepare cost estimates for clients an asset
