(EMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services (MHS) that manages and operates ground ambulance, air medical transport and medical communications operations in Nova Scotia through a performance‑based contract with the provincial government’s Emergency Health Services (EHS) Operations division and the Department of Health and Wellness. EMC also operates TeleHealth/811 medical communications for Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island for the Department of Health. Position Type: Permanent Reporting to the Manager, Human Resource Business Partnership, the HRBP is both a strategic and hands‑on role that provides full‑cycle Human Resource leadership on organizational initiatives. The role is critical in executing people initiatives, providing excellent internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence through process and program development and improvement. The HRBP works collaboratively with other HR professionals across Medavie Health Services and Medavie Inc. Canadian operations. What You’ll Do Serve as the priority point of contact for assigned client groups on all HR matters Provide guidance on policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation Support leaders with conflict resolution, progressive discipline, and workforce planning Lead fair and thorough internal workplace investigations, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation Lead HR programs and initiatives that drive engagement and organizational effectiveness Chair bi‑monthly labour‑management meetings, manage grievances, and foster positive union relationships Interpret data analytics trends and provide actionable recommendations to support business objectives Partner on strategic initiatives from concept to execution to influence meaningful change What We’re Looking For Undergraduate degree in Business, Human Resources, Labour Studies, or related field CPHR designation (or equivalent) preferred Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience Proven experience in a unionised environment is preferred Healthcare experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and project management skills Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment and ‘roll up your sleeves’ when needed Class 5 driver’s licence preferred, as there may be occasional travel across the province Why Join Us?
