We require an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. The Field Service Technician is responsible for the testing, validation, and commissioning of locomotives to ensure they meet all operational and safety standards before entering service. This role involves hands-on work with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on locomotives, requiring detailed knowledge and precision. The technician will work closely with engineering teams, quality control, and project managers to ensure that all aspects of the locomotive function correctly and efficiently. Responsibilities Testing and Validation: Perform comprehensive tests on propulsion, braking, electrical, pneumatic, and communication systems; conduct functional, qualification, and routine tests to assess performance and reliability; implement Field Modifications (FMIs) to improve product quality. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues during commissioning; use diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint faults and implement corrective actions; interpret information to identify root causes and report findings. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of tests, inspections, and adjustments; document failures, part exchanges, FMI implementations, and work performed in commissioning and warranty databases; provide feedback to engineering and quality teams. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements; conduct risk assessments and ensure testing activities comply with safety standards. What will you need to succeed? Post-secondary education or Technical Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of related experience. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team. Role model behavior aligned with Siemens values and guidelines. Strong in electrical field; valid driver’s license in good standing.
