Role Summary The Field Service Desk Technician provides remote and on-site technical support to local clients, bridging Service Desk operations and Service Delivery. This role ensures timely resolution of incidents and service requests, supports ITIL-aligned processes, and delivers an outstanding customer experience. Key Responsibilities Respond to and resolve Level 1–2 incidents and service requests via phone, ticketing system, and on-site visits. Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, peripherals, and basic networking . Assist with change implementation , problem investigations , and asset/configuration management . Maintain accurate documentation in the ticketing system and ensure SLA compliance . Communicate effectively with clients to set expectations, provide updates, and deliver user training when needed. Support proactive maintenance and service improvement initiatives. Collaborate with the Service Desk Team Lead for escalations and resource coordination. Adhere to NUMENTIS standards, policies, and confidentiality requirements. Qualifications College diploma or higher in IT or related field desirable. (REQUIRED) Fluent in English language both spoken and written communication skills. 0–2 years of experience in IT support (desktop, field, or help desk). Strong customer service and communication skills. Solid understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing, networking, virtualization, and security. Familiarity with Windows/macOS, Office 365, and basic IP networking. Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Autotask, ConnectWise) preferred. Driver’s license required and ability to travel locally. ITIL awareness (formal certification is an asset but not required). Hands-on administration and support of Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, Azure AD, and related technologies Hands-on administration and support of Microsoft Windows 2016/2019/2022 Servers, Virtualization (ESXi & Hyper-V), Active Directory, MS Exchange, MSSQL, IIS, and Network Devices (firewalls & switches) Solid experience with network troubleshooting and configuration, including firewalls, switches, and security solutions Practices active listening with an ability to explain technical terms in clear and understandable language Demonstrated ability to diagnose technical issues and match resources appropriately to achieve problem resolution Demonstrated ability to learn customer support processes and techniques Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment Location Oakville, Ontario (with travel to local client sites) OTHER: NUMENTIS is an equal opportunity employer.
